10DOM: all that is left

she was the bubble bath
i soaked in, suds tickling
nose, immersion ---
d
r
a
i
n
i
n
g
tension til that same sooth-
ing warmth grew cold
in careless complacence
gurgling slowly
through the small steel grate
sucking for that last bit
of air---

leaving only
a ring, around the tub,
and ten wrinkled toes.

  9. It is interesting how life turns out sometimes with the wonderfulness and newness making us miss what lies beneath. Also maybe the wrinkled toes have something to do with age and growing wiser or it could just be a bubble bath :)
